Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who will be surrender before the court on May 16th to serve the three-and-half years jail term will be assigned the job of cooking in prison during this period. He mayn't even dreamt ever that he would paid Rs 25 per day for his doing this work.
As per the prison rules, an inmate should do any one of the works like carpentry, cooking and few workshop stuff. Last time when Dutt served one-and-half years jail, he was into carpentry and had made chairs too. The actor would be spending the jail term in Yerwada prison located in Pune. Jail authorities here say he will be choosing cooking this time.
The jail authorities have the power to increase the daily wages of the prisoners from Rs 25 to Rs 50 if they have become expects in the work they have been doing. An inmate could take Rs 1500 from his family and will be permitted to meet five people from his family per month and that too for just 20 minutes.
Sanjay Dutt was convicted by the TADA court for illegally possessing a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle that were part of a consignment of weapons and explosives brought to India for using them in 1993 Mumba serial blasts that killed 257 people and injured around 700.
