BCCI chief Srinivasan who landed in trouble with his son-in-law and CSK CEO Gurunath Meiyappan's arrest for his alleged involvement in IPL betting came up with a new version that none had anticipated ever.
While speaking at a press-conference held in Kolkata, Srinivasan said, "Meiyappan did not have any role in CSK and he used to visit the office of India Cements as an enthusiastic cricket lover. He was brought in as part of the management later on and was traveling with the CSK team. Last few days have been difficult for BCCI and me as president. Even more difficult for me as father and father-in-law".
"An independent commission will probe into allegations against concerned players and officials, including Gurunath Meiyappan. I'm not part of this commission and there is no chance of me influencing the decisions. No one has asked me to resign as the president of BCCI," he added.
Why did Srinivasan tried to project Gurunath Meiyappan just as a cricket enthusiastic, though he is CSK's CEO? Is this an attempt to avoid life ban on IPL Franchise Chennai Super Kings? Does he wishes to protest his position as BCCI chief by saying his son-in-law has nothing to do with CSK?
Every time Meiyappan shared a dais with Srinivasan, the latter was introduced as CSK CEO. What will be Srinivasan's reaction to this?
